From 13th August 2005 under the new WEEE regulations Paddys Tool Store is obliged to take back Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) from members of the public.

The WEEE regulations are designed to promote the recovery of waste electrical and electronic equipment. They will facilitate in particular the achievement of the targets for the collection, treatment, recovery and disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment in an environmentally sound manner established by directive 2002/96/EC on waste electrical and electronic equipment.

The prices of all electrical items shown are fully inclusive of VAT and include a contribution to the Producer Recycling Fund (PRF) to ensure that waste electrical and electronic equipment is collected and recycled in a responsible manner.

When Paddys Tool Store supplies a new EEE product,  we must accept back waste electrical and electronic equipment from private households free of charge on a one-to-one basis as long as the waste electrical and electronic equipment is of equivalent type or has fulfilled the same function as the supplied equipment, other than contaminated waste electrical and electronic equipment that presents a health and safety risk unless such contamination is on account of a distributor's liability.

WEEE take back is on a one for one basis only and the product must be of a similar type or have performed the same function as the new item purchased.  For example if you are buying a new electric sander we will take back your old sander and ensure that it is disposed of in an environmentally correct manner. However if you are buying an electric sander, you cannot return a television, DVD etc in its place.

If you are purchasing an electrical item from Paddys Tool Store then if you have a corrosponding waste item which performed a similar function you need to return it via courier or post to our office at: Paddys Tool Store, Unit A6, Smithstown, Shannon, Co Clare on the day of delivery. 

If the old appliance is not returned on the day of delivery then you have days to return the item to our premises.
